Question:
How to get rid of Virus Lab 2009?
2008-09-15 07:08:07 UTC
My mom downloaded Virus Lab 2009 onto her computer. Now two icons in the bottom right corner are telling me to download the pro version because I have a trojan. I also get system alerts and popups. I uninstalled Virus Lab, but the warning won't go away. Any ideas how to get rid of it?

Download the great utility "delete on reboot" which will mark files and folders in use for deleting on your next reboot:

http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Remove_on_Reboot_Shell_Extension/removereboot.html

then go to the program files folder (C:\Program Files\)

Right click the AntiVirusLab2009 folder and select delete on reboot.

Then go to system folder (C:\WINDOWS\system32\)

Right click: fbjvt.dll and again select delete on reboot.

Reboot. gone forever.

After rebooting, you may want to uninstall remove on reboot because if someone does this accidentally on the wrong file you can ruin windows.

I know this works, I infected and removed it on a computer to test it.
