There's a site you keep visiting that's putting it back. Change the cookies setting in your browser.

If your using firefox web browser click tools' options. click the privacy tab. Make sure 3rd party cookies is unchecked. Click "Exceptions" In the box type in the address of the cookie you wish to go away. Click block. No more problem. Set firefox to ask you every time a cookie tries to load. Keep cookies of websites you visit all the time. Like yahoo. Allow for session on the ones you don't visit all the time. They will get dumped when you leave the page. I haven't had a tracking cookie in over a year.

Yes - try the scan from microsoft.

I know this looks long but READ!! SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND FRUSTRATION!!

Once you have it removed you'll probably agree with me in that Microsoft DOES have the best software to rid and not have to worry about viruses. This is because the protection is in real time.

Most other anti-virus apps seem to let you get infected and then they want to work to remove the virus. Microsoft's Software will stop the virus dead in it's tracks before it has a chance to install and infect your files - hiding itself like it has in your situation.

If you have a virus on your computer this will surely remove the virus and all of your future worries concerning them.

Scan your computer using Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner at the microsoft website.

The Scan will remove the virus, but you still won't be with protected from future virus attacks on your system unless you have reliable antivirus protection on your system. But here's another great thing;

Microsoft now also gives you a 90 day/ 3 mth trial of their Live Protection if you want to try out the full featured real-time protection.

Either way - to get rid of any viruses, trojans, spyware, adware, etc.. that shouldn't be on your computer:

Go to www.microsoft.com

Security & Updates tab click for Home Users

Next, Under the Security Products bar located to the right of the screen, select Windows Live OneCare or Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner.

If you select Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner this will run a quick scan on your pc and remove any viruses, spyware, trojans, etc. that you may have on your computer.

If you select Windows Live OneCare this will enable you to download the free trial of the program by clicking on Free Trial (unless you want to purchase right now - if that's the case press buy now).

(NOTE: You will need to uninstall all other antivirus or firewall programs that you currently have on your computer in order to install Microsoft's Windows Live OneCare.)

HTTP cookies, more commonly referred to as Web cookies, tracking cookies or just cookies, are parcels of text sent by a server to a Web client (usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time it accesses that server. HTTP cookies are used for authenticating, session tracking (state maintenance), and maintaining specific information about users, such as site preferences or the contents of their electronic shopping carts. The term "cookie" is derived from "magic cookie," a well-known concept in UNIX computing which inspired both the idea and the name of HTTP cookies.

Because they can be used for tracking browsing behavior, cookies have been of concern for Internet privacy. As a result, they have been subject to legislation in various countries such as the United States, as well as the European Union. Cookies have also been criticized because the identification of users they provide is not always accurate and because they could potentially be a target of network attackers. Some alternatives to cookies exist, but each has its own uses, advantages, and drawbacks.

Cookies are also subject to a number of misconceptions, mostly based on the erroneous notion that they are computer programs. In fact, cookies are simple pieces of data unable to perform any operation by themselves. In particular, they are neither spyware nor viruses, although cookies from certain sites are described as spyware by many anti-spyware products because they allow users to be tracked when they visit various sites.

Most modern browsers allow users to decide whether to accept cookies, but rejection makes some websites unusable. For example, shopping carts implemented using cookies do not work if cookies are rejected.
