I have COMODO firewall, and since last night the programs ielowutil.exe, msfeedssync.exe, and when I tried to open it just now Windows Media Player, have been frequently trying to obtain shutdown privilege. Comodo has caught it each time, but it has never happened before and /certainly/ does not seem like something that should be happening at random. This seems to be coinciding with problems I've been having connecting to the internet--Sunday it would not connect at all and would give a loud, odd tone as it tried to connect (I have dial-up) while yesterday it worked. To-day again I had problems connecting but eventually it /did/ connect. I have a Toshiba Satellite A215 laptop running Windows Vista. Monday night I installed IObit Security 360 and it found more than one Rogue.Errorfix and an Adware.MWS. I do not know what those are but I had it remove them. My other security programs are AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials, Comodo Firewall, Spybot Search and Destroy, a daily sweep using IObit's Advance SystemCare, and an occasional scan by TrendMicro Housecall. AVG seems to only be good for cookie-finding. MSSE has found and blocked a trojan but has done nothing else. I'm not sure but I can try to provide additional information if it's needed.

For starters only use 1 Anti Virus program.

The real-time protection of two antivirus programs may conflict with each other and cause the following:

* False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't.

* Conflicts: Your system may lock up due to both products attempting to access the same file at the same time.

* Performance: More that one antivirus will cause your PC to become slow and it may even crash or blue screen.

* Less protection: Two antivirus trying to scan the same file may interfere with the process and allow a malicious file onto the computer without notice to you.

I would remove avg it's becoming bloated.

How to run AVG Remover Tool 32 bit see link scroll down a bit download the tool to make sure all of AVG is removed.

Sorry Im not sure how to do it on vista but if you have a mac as well just go into system preferences, energy saver, the schedule and set your automatic shutdown or start up times. You could probably set your computer to enter sleep mode/screensaver or something after 30 of inactivity so it gives you enough time to get to sleep. Hope this helped!

Get rid of all of your virus programs except one!!! You are going to destroy your operating system if you keep running all that. Overprotection is a bad thing. I find that AVG is the only one I need. I have a spyware program that I run every once in a while, but for the most part, one is all you need. In rare cases. Windows will completely crash. It could be that the scans are finding eachother.

IObit Security 360 is a joke, AVG is ok but why use it when theres a lot better available, I'd highly recommend removing them both and replacing them with Avast Free Anti-Virus 5.
