So, I was using my laptop, doing some homework. I minimized all my windows to go to the desktop and I notice that my desktop wallpaper was gone and in place of that was this box that said "Your system has been infected! System has stopped due to a serious malfunction. Spyware activity has been detected. It is recommended to use spyware removal tool to prevent data loss. Do not run any application before spyware is removed."

D:

What am I supposed to do? I tried to change my background but nothing works. I just scanned my computer and it says there's nothing wrong..?

Looks like some fake antivirus is trying to trick you into purchasing it's full version. It's a scam.

Download and install a legitimate anti-spyware software. Choose from malwarebytes antimalware or superantispyware.Download links http://www.pcrisk.com/top-spyware-removers Both are free and does a great job at detecting and removing spyware. Download, install and update before running a full system scan. You may also want to enter safe mode before running a scan.Click Start, click Shut down, click Restart, click Ok. During your computer starting process press F8 key on your keyboard multiple times until you see Windows Advanced Option menu, then select Safe mode from the list.

I think Background doesn't change in Windows XP, vista or 7 don't know about the others.

I remember it happened 9 years from now in windows 98.

But still think you should Download & install Microsoft Security Essentials as its an anti-spyware too.

it's either a spoof or a rootkit , right click on the desktop and change the wallpaper for what you want , if it comes back it is probably a rootkit
