Have you seen cnet's download.com? It's where adventurous people who know what they are doing download their soon to be favorite apps. You can find a whole host of free antispyware and antivirus programs. I've used three of the top 5 antispyware and antivirus apps. I can tell you they do a great job and don't expire. AVG antivirus works perfectly- but forces you to do a scan every time the computer starts: like it or not. I like to use a combination of Lavasoft Ad-aware and Spybot Search and destroy to deliver the knock out blow to those programs.

Y'know, you can completely stop having to use those programs all together if you stop using Internet Explore, and start using Mozilla firefox. Firefox is the best browser available: It's light on system resources, heavy on features, and it doesn't suffer from IE's fatal flaw of active-x controls (that's how the spyware gets on your computer, btw).

Tell your friends about firefox and make sure to download version 3.0 on launch day to help with the world record for most downloads of a single app in a given day.

Note: you still may want to keep internet explorer installed for the occasionally rare website that doesn't work without active-x controls. good news: they are becoming rarer by the second.

First, make sure that you have an up to date antivirus program (If you don't, install Avira AntiVir Personal. If you have one that has expired, uninstall it with RevoUninstaller and then install Avira AntiVir Personal). I would also recommend that you use ThreatFire, Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, and Comodo Firewall (Just like with the antivirus above, you should only have ONE firewall). Once they are installed, disable System Restore and do full scans with all of them. If you need any extra help, feel free to send me a message on Yahoo Messenger and I can walk you through it or help you some more.

Okay, Lets try Luck......

Do System Restore before one day of the popup popping. If fate is good it would work..If not then only one option....

Format Your PC & do a fresh Installation of windows.

The moment you finish installing windows you gotcha install AVG Antivirus for free. Just google it and download & install. Remember not to open any partitions till AVG Antivirus is installed and scan is performed. Good Luck

If you have an Internet browser that is rather old, have it updated so you have pop up blocker support.

Go to your pop-up blocker controls, make sure it is enabled and that the website you are visiting is not on the list. Check to see if the site is in your Internet security trusted list. Also you might try clearing your Internet cache just to make sure it isn't hidden there.

ReFormat, and screw all that software, because it will just bog down your machine anyways.

If the people who are making that adware were stupid enough to let the freeware companies remove their stuff, then they would be out of business.

Do you still get them when your computer is off? If not, then leaving it off constantly might be a solution.
