I have Windows Vista and I can't seem to remove this program. Virus? It always has signs popping up say need scan. Trojan! Etc. And I did a scan got rid of everything (with different antivirus program) and it is still poppin up. I also believe it is causing the internet connection to not work. (I'm on another computer)
Anyways. It doesn't show up in Program lists under control panel, but it does have a folder under Program Files. I tried deleting it, but it says I don't have permission. Is there anyway I can get rid of it!?

Thanks so much! ^-^

After spending ten hours today trying everything including downloading two spyware solutions that didn't work, and seeing everything fall off the table, was resigned to hoping I could download files without viruses and scrapping my computer. I really had settings and almost everthing screwed up. As a last resort, I decided to restore my Windows XP to

yesterday 3am. I had restarted in safe mode and went to admin mode and start

Presto, It seems to work. I delete the icons off the desktop and emptied the wastebasket(delete icons). Hopefully it is not lurking their again when I restart next time. I have re-started again and still not there.

By the way, I have no idea how I got this other than I looked at a news story that had a Georgia(Russian) link that had photos attached.

I was suddenly receiving adult info which I xed out. As noted by someone else that could be a response regardless of whether you say yes/no or xout. One person suggested that if you receive a pop up you should never respond in any way except to control/alt/delete which brings up task manager/ tab process/delete running process

Smart Antivirus is a rogue anti-spyware program that displays false and exaggerated scan results. Thankfully, though, there is a totally free way to remove this program.

Please visit this page and follow the guide in order to fully remove this program and any related malware:

Please note that many of the answers to your question state that you should download and install Xoftspy or Spyhunter. Both of these programs only scan your computer and do not remove anything for free. They are only being shown in order for the poster to make a commission. Instead only use programs that do not require you to purchase them in order to remove found infections. The guide above includes a program that will remove this infection entirely for free.

Antivirus XP 2008 is a new rogue anti-spyware program that is advertised through Trojans and other malware. It is advertised in the form of fake security alerts and warnings on web sites that state you are infected with malware or are being attacked in some manner. When you click on these ads, it will automatically download the installer for Antivirus XP 2008 and install it on your machine. In some cases, this program is installed without any intervention at all from you.

it doesn't work completely, at least not on vista. it looks like its gone but it's still there. i have winpatrol which shows it. malwarebytes removes the annoying popups though. for anyone that has win patrol, after smart antivirus is "removed" you will keep getting a message if the smart antivirus can restart or not on reboot. there is also a yuree75.exe file that looks suspicious too but not sure if its related.
