Go to control panel (switch to classic view). Go to administrative tools. Selec Local Security Policy.
Il local security policy, go in the audit folder. Set the
- Audit account logon event
- Audit logn event
to Success & Failure.
Now, you can right click on the My computer icon and select manage. In the system tools folder, under Event Viewer and Security . All login and logout from this day foward will be listed in there.

1. Open Control Panel.
2. In 'search' key in 'event viewer'.
3. 'Administrative tools' comes up.
4. Click on 'View event logs' (under 'AdministrativeTools').
5. New box 'event viewer' is there , or opens.
6.Under 'Windows logs' , click on security.
7. A box listing all events with dates and times (Audit success...date....time).

If you're running XP SP2 or Vista
Open your Event Viewer and inspect your Security Log.
