Ensure that the firewall is activated and working. Boot in safe mode and try uninstalling the software you downloaded. if, successful, run 'msconfig'. Under startup tab, look for any startup entry for the program. Uncheck it. Click OK. Select Restart Later. Then run 'regedit'. Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ==> SOFTWARE search for an entry for the software. If it's there, delete it. Restart your PC.

If the problem still persists, try to restore your system to restore point prior to the software installation date using System Restore Wizard.

If the problem is not solved, download & install Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool from:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx

Run the same. It takes a pretty long time to scan your system. (I assume you're using a genuine microsoft Operating System.)

If nothing works, download & install Kaspersky Pure Trial from http://www.kaspersky.com/pure-trial

Install and have a full scan. You should uninstall your existing Kaspersky before installing Kaspersky Pure.

Good Luck.

Sounds like someone installed a program like Real VNC on your computer. VNC won't show up on a virus scan, because it isn't a virus. I would look at your installed programs and see if it is installed, then uninstall it. I used to do it all the time when I was in school to mess with people... you might also open windows firewall in the control panel and see what programs have open ports.

Why do you think somebody is controlling your PC?

Try this:

Firstly, boot your computer to the Safe Mode menu screen. You do this by repeatedly pressing F8 as soon as you boot up. Once there, use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode with Networking. Continue to boot from there.

If that's successful, download and run TDSSKiller.exe from Kaspersky Lab. It's tiny, and takes just a minute to run. It hunts down and kills a specific family of rootkits. Here's a link:

http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208280684

Regardless of the results, download the free version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Install it, get updates and run a full scan (still in Safe Mode). Here's a link:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

After that, boot normally and run another full scan with MBAM. It will detect any malware that wasn’t running in Safe Mode.

TDSSKiller.exe can be deleted, and Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware can be easily uninstalled, should you wish to do so.

Hope this helps.

Start computer in 'safe mode'.

Go to the control panel and create a new user account with admin privs.

re-boot the computer

Log on as new user

run scans from this account.

ADDITIONALLY, check the add/remove programs for anything NOT suppose to be there.

If the thing you downloaded was an app try to uninstall it. if still won't work then you can't do anything without formatting but instead of formatting you can re-install the OS which without losing data. I don't think whether it helps but you ca give try.

you can get norton anti virus which I have.. but you have to pay. .. since you already downloaded the virus you can't really do much, you're already infected. just buy norton security suite. none are really good protectors unless you buy them from what i've figured out. so buy it and put the disc in your computer right when you get home, and it will try to get rid of it. :/ or.. you have to buy a new pc or get a guy to fix it for you.

well if you think you may have a virus, try this, all free programs, http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-An…

download and install this program, it's free. if that doesn't find anything, try these other two

http://download.cnet.com/Hitman-Pro-3-32… for 32 bit PC or this 64bit

http://download.cnet.com/Hitman-Pro-3-64…

http://download.cnet.com/Combofix/3000-8…

one of these programs should find the virus and remove it. In my case, combo fix did it for me.
