Hi, i Have been using VLC for quite a while now but lately it crashes as soon os i try to use it, i am using which i think is the latest Version--1.1.9.0 has anyone had the same problem if so is there a fix,thanks in advance.

Probably due to a corrupt file. Try completely uninstalling it using Revo Uninstaller and then reinstall:

By the way, 1.1.9.0 is not the latest version of VLC. 2 versions have come out after that:

Meanwhile, you might like the KMPlayer better than VLC:

Yes, I'd uninstall it and then install the latest version (1.1.11 for Windows) or use another player as it has an unpatched security vulnerability, see http://secunia.com/advisories/product/25892/?task=statistics_2011

You might want to try Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. Not so widely acclaimed as KMPlayer or VLC but it plays most things, has no unpatched vulnerabilities and isn't ad-supported (as KM is)
