Firefox is considered more secure. IE is notoriously buggy, but you have to keep it to get updates (a little MSFT trick to make sure people can't remove it). You can just leave it unused for browsing and use Firefox instead, which has far more usability, add-ons, skins etc.
Edit - The only sites failing to run in FF are ones made in FrontPage. 99.9% of all sites work in FF.

Yes you certainly can. you can even run Safari (Apple's internet program) at the same time as IE and Fire Fox. Fire fox is more customizable than IE and Safari. But Fire Fox isn't supported by all internet sites so you should keep IE on you computer. But it goes both ways. some internet sites wont work with Fire Fox. Yahoo does support Fire Fox and most of the main stream websites.

you can.firefox is a great web browser, and there's some talk that most of its features in its new version(which is the greatest one yet in my opinion) is the baseline of IE8.but not all the Web is compatible with FF, so its better to still use IE from time to time.you can also try other browsers if you want to try them.personally,i have Firefox 3.0.1, IE7 (haven't downloaded the latest beta of IE8), and Opera 9.52 (another great browser).

You can download firefox 3 on there website. www.firefox.com
ITS NOT BETTER than IE in my opinion, if you wnat a fast superior web browser try IE8 or safari.

Yes, absolutely. Firefox uses less processing power than IE, and has a lot more add-ons and skins. Just search Firefox Download and you should have a download site.

Download Firefox at mozilla.com. And yes, you can have both IE and firefox on one computer; that is what I do. You can use Firefox because it is much more stable and customizable (using plugins), but many sites still do not support firefox so that is why you should keep IE on your computer.

Yes, my IE will not allow me to open multiple tabs so I open FF and then transfer data between the two browsers
