I would recommend to simply install parental controls in the first place

this is usually then transferred the log file via Email or FTP to the monitoring computer, or stored on the monitored computer for later viewing.

Howdy!:

A keylogger is a type of surveillance software (considered to be either software or spyware) that has the capability to record every keystroke you typed, usually encrypted . A keylogger recorder can record instant messages, e-mail, and any information you type at any time using your keyboard. The log file created by the keylogger can then be sent to a specified receiver. Some keylogger programs will also record any e-mail addresses you use and web site URLs you visit. Keyloggers like Micro Keylogger or Aobo Keylogger, as a surveillance tool, are often physically installed by employers to ensure employees use work computers for business purposes only, or applied by parents as a parental control tools to protect their kids from harms.

I installed that on my brothers computer without him knowing and it worked great.

You can set it up to send you emails. I had it setup so every hour, it would send me an email filled with pictures. Every 60 seconds it took a screenshot of his desktop, as well as every time a new application was launched. So every hour I got emails with over 60 images in them, along with every word they typed into every window. It's worth a look, I think they have a trial version somewhere.
