Now the best software you should get is Spysweeper with Anti-virus, this software is too good and gets better everyday. This is ELITE software. It blocks over 173,000 threats. No other software can compete with that or come close for that matter. It catches everything. I've used them all and it is 2nd to none. Norton Systemworks is very good. That's the only good software from Norton. I would upgrade to it since you have Norton. I wouldn't recommend Norton Internet security, its not that great. Norton is not a system hog either and it's the 2nd best.

Don't waste your time with AVG, spybot, ad aware, CA, spyhunter, superantispyware, windows defender or anything of the sort. Stay away from anything that is FREE when it comes to spyware and antivirus. There is a reason why they free. They are NOT good.

There is a virus being spread by MSN Messenger. You are asked to accept a picture from the person who you are talking to. If you do then a file called PICT1324(2)(1)(1)(2)(1)(1)(1).exe will be transferred to your computer and begin the process of asking others that you chat to to accept pictures as well.

The best way to avoid the file is to keep clicking Decline when asked (if the other person is affected then you will see several messages asking to accept the file)

If you do accept the file then you need to go into msconfig and remove the file from starting when Windows does. Do as follows:

1. Click on the Start button and click on Run

2. Then type in msconfig and click OK

3. You should see a screen that has System Configuration Utility in the blue bar

at the top

4. Click on the Tab that says Startup

5. Locate an entry that says MSN Messenger as the name. The filename will have

PIC1342(2)(1)(1)(2)(1)(1)(1).exe at the right hand side

6. Click the box beside the name MSN Messenger

7. Click the Apply button in the bottom right hand side of the screen

8. Then when prompted restart your computer and when Windows loads up again

locate the file on your computer (it should be in the C:/My Documents/Messenger Received Files directory) and then you should be able to delete it

Hello. Assuming you have XP and can get online or go online somewhere else, I'd immediately get Microsoft's Malicious Tool Remover. This is a free app that will need unzipping, but once it's done will remove any bad stuff on your system. I would also get AVG's latest antivirus program, Spyware Terminator, and a great little app called CCleaner to clean out your cache! Once you're clean and up again, get the updates on the first two apps and quickly get offline and run a thorough check of your system. Then when you are done being online on a given day, run CCleaner which will upon setting it up will clean out typed url's, internet history, cookies (especially those bad MRU's which companies like Nextag.com use to track you), and the like and remove stuff from your system so a virus cannot see your tracks. Firefox tends to use less megabytes of memory seemingly, and if you have any tool bars I'd knock them off as it often makes IE crash! Stay away from Incredimail as they put the adware program Alexa Toolbar... which can stay on your system even AFTER running the rescue cds. Good luck.

Well for a fact we don't really know if its a virus, worm or just some stupid spy ware program that spams.

Best thing to do is run your Microsoft System Configuration Utility (msconfig) by doing the following.

Start> Run> Msconfig

Then on tab menu you will see a row of names, click 'Start-up'

and check on the list view for any items that is unknown or looks suspicious and untick and apply and restart your computer.

If this doesn't wok then i would recommend you doing an 'On-line Scan' which McAfee and most anti-virus corps do on their website.

Mess N is evil incarnate! Whether the lure you into a year contract by advancing you money to buy your computer or they hit you with pop-ups leaching onto your machine. AWOL

may keep you on the phone for 40 minutes while you quit them but Mess N gets their money back while you suffer with hang ups like AT@T. And it was $25 per month so they got their money backplus interest plus chaining me as a customer.

Try downloading a free antivirus, because often if you get a virus, it will usually disable any antivirus program that you have installed on your pc, so if you get a new antivirus, it will now find the virus and not be disabled. For the new and free antivirus i recommend avg free.
