About 2 weeks ago I opened a message from a friend on Facebook only to discover it was a virus. I downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-malware as recommended by a friend and this seemed to sort the problem. But over the last couple of days I have really struggled in even getting the computer to work. When I switched on everything happened as normal then all my desktop items disappeared even the bar across the bottom, all I was left with was my desktop picture. Eventually I managed to get the computer to stay on and did another scan. This detected some more objects infected which I deleted but I'm still having problems. Now I can't get onto any security websites to try and download some more security software, but can access any other website!!
I have also had DrWatson postmortem debugger popping up so am worried I have the Acebot virus. I have downloaded Spyware Doctor but can't even get that to work.
Any advice is very much appreciated!!!!

REMOVING MALWARE/VIRUSES/SPYWARE:

Download and install the free version of Malwarebtyes anti-malware its a very effective malware remover, once installed update it and run a quick scan, remove anything it finds.

http://www.malwarebytes.com

If you downloaded but are unable to install Malwarebytes its likely the malware on your computer is blocking it in some way, try renaming mbam.exe to a random string of letters or numbers as the malware may be designed to block mbam.exe.

If you are still unable to install or download Malwarebytes try Hitman Pro its far less likely to be blocked, it scans with 5 different anti-virus engines at once, simply activate the 30 day free trial once you PC is clean remove it, if you are unable to get to either of the websites please email me for advanced instructions on how to check your "hosts" file and device manager for malware.

If you haven't got real-time anti-virus software installed on your PC id recommend installing Avast, its free and as effective as paid for software.

Well if you don't have really important data in that drive i suggest that you format it as it is really tough to deal with Malware. If you do have important data then get a pen drive or something and copy your data ( only those that are needed) and format it ....then get a good antivirus ( norton / Kaspersky ) and scan your pc...

If its all clear then scan the USB ( pen drive) device for Virus then transfer your data back...

I suggest you buy the Latest version of any antivirus as pirated once don't serve the purpose much...

im not a pc expert but have experience this many times and often sign up to a computering forums that help people tackle malware/spyware. thers no point in downloading anti virus softwares they are not perfect. only useful for basic measures. search ''malware help forums'' using google, yahoo, bing etc.

first find out the file(s) which have virus and delete them (even if they are system files) if they are system files go to start menu and type in search box cmd and up in start menu right click cmd and select run as administrator in cmd type sfc and hit enter and the type sfc/scannow it will repair system files and virus will also be removed or its a simple way also run system restore till it was normal :)
