HELP ME PLZZZ.....POP UP WINDOWS??

Question

Im getting a pop window stating that "ALERT! You have security problem! Do you want to scan your computer for viruses" this window is followed by a link to antivirus 2009 opened in internet explorer window.

Plzz help Im in the verge of completing ma assingnment I need quick

And bcuz of this I am also not able to access some websites which contain software to clean of this problem

This is a scam. Your computer is already infected. Don't click on anything. Shut those windows with the little "x" in the upper right corner. Get help from someone knowledgeable or follow advice to your question following this answer.

Unplug you computer from the network. User the sneakernet to update your virus scanner and firewall programmes. (download the updates from another computer and copy to the infected net from some removable media.



Once the system is clean, stick to a more secure browser like, Mozilla or Firefox or Opera. If possible, change your OS.

NO! Don't install. Download Adaware 6.0., Spybot seek and destroy, AVG free anti virus and Zone Alarm free (firewall). Uninstall the anti virus program your running and any firewalls you might be running and install all of these programs, update and run them! You might want to unplug your puter from your router or modem after you do this so the pop ups will quite bothering you. Don't forget to use Firefox as your web browser. It has a built in pop up blocker! Good luck.
