Question:
How can I remove this program from my computer? I am trying to get rid of an antispyware program called?

Ad Aware from Lavasoft.
When I try to remove it using "add or remove programs" I get the following message:

Windows Installer

The feature you are trying to use is on a
Network resource that is unavailable.

Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a
Folder containing the installation package
‘Ad-Aware.msi’ in the box below.

Use source:

C:\DOCUME~1\HP_Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\AAWInstallerTemp\v9.5.0\

I shouldn't have to be a computer scientist to erase this unwanted program from my computer (I have since downloaded Superantispyware in its place).
I really don't know what this message means, and I certainly don't know other ways to remove a program beside the "add or remove programs" tool.
FYI: I am using Windows XP, and my browser is the latest version of Firefox.

Your error message says that you have a problem with a program called the Windows Installer. Microsoft has a solution that you can find at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2438651/ under the heading of "How to troubleshoot problems when you install or uninstall programs on a Windows-based computer".

On that page, you will see a little guy holding a wrench in the header of a box labelled "Microsoft Fixit". Click the "Run Now" button in that box, and, philosophically, your problem should go away.

It's certainly worth a try!

ususally working an entire test of a official anti-malware application (I propose Microsoft protection necessities) in case you're in secure MODE will rid your computing device of approximately ninety% of threats obtainable. secure mode facilitates no longer something however the undemanding working device load, in spite of the undeniable fact that it is not one hundred%. the sole one hundred% thank you to do away with it somewhat is to 7-Layer wipe the no longer elementary disk. And that takes time and ensures one hundred% archives loss (assuming you probably did no longer decrease back up).

To remove this file use a program called: Delete Invalid File. It is free and download.cnet.com has a copy. Or you can take Ownership of the file/folder. Do a Google search for Ownership of folder.

You use explorer to delete this folder, scroll down to the folder, right click on folder, click on Properties, click on advance, click on Owner tap, click on Edit, highlight your ID, click on All folders and files, apply, OK, OK, with Properties open, highlight your ID, check to Full rights, apply, OK. Now try to delete the files/folders.

REVO Uninstaller is free and works! It will "force" uninstall any stubborn program that doesn't want to leave.
