My hp laptop is troubleshooting, i tried everything i read online, but it doesn't work, so i decide to give to a professional and fix it. But the problem is, i don't have the money yet and i have school work for tomorrow saved in my laptop. I really need to recover my data today, but since it doesn't turn on i can't just put it in a pen drive. Is there anyway to recover the data without fully turning it on? Thank you.

Go to the store and get yourself an IDE / SATA to USB 2.0 converter. You can pull the hard drive out of your machine, usually just one or two screws, and connect it to the device, and then to your computer using the USB cord. I added a similar device in the Source section that I found on Amazon. Since it is a laptop, your main concern that it will work with a 2.5 inch hard drive. The 3.5 inch hard drives are mainly for desktops.

There is no way unless you take the hard drive out and hook it up to another computer - as the other person suggested.

David has it right, except that adapter he linked to is not complete, you need something like this
