Hi. I have a virus on my other computer. When I try to use internet explorer it would let me browse the internet for a few seconds and then suddenly it would disable the website and tell me Google cant process my request due to multiple queries or something and it would say to download some weird program. I disabled all connections through the firewall and I notice din the same menu as the firewall there is something saying virus protection not monitored please download blah blah blah Next I tried to restore to when I didn't have a virus and it said that windows is not capable of restoring to the selected point. The next day explorer.exe stopped loading and so did safe mode. Any virus protection I try to start does not work. Such as Malwarebytes hijack this and a few others. I have no idea how to get rid of it and I cant reformat because I don't have a windows disc. Please help.

Hey,

I ran into this issue yesterday with a client. However, I was able to get safe mode to work. Your case may be a bit more challenging but we can give it a shot. You're on the right track with malwarebytes and hijackthis. You should also download combofix when the computer finally lets you. Try these steps and report back at your convenience:

1) Try renaming the installation files. For example, mbam-setup.exe --> mbam-setup2.exe. Often times this can help get past the virus blocker.

2) If possible, download portable firefox on a separate computer from here: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable

- extract it to a folder on your desktop and try using it instead of IE. It may get past some of the blocks that are set in IE.

3) When clicking Google results you'll probably notice it redirects you from all security sites. Try clicking on the "cached" version of the site. There should be a "cached" link underneath each result. Often times the viruses/rootkits don't block access to the cached site.

4) Also, try these lesser known, still reputable, AV on-demand malware removers.

- Hitman: http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro/

- Prevx (not free): http://www.prevx.com (this was the only program that saved me yesterday.)

It didn't remove every infection but it removed enough for me to finish the cleanup with malwarebytes.

Try those steps and let me know where you get.

Good Luck,

Ben

There isn't any convenient means to do that. After a home windows pc will get a pandemic / spyware and adware / trojan / bungle-ware and so forth, there is just one definite-fireplace strategy to rescue the pc. Back up all DATA (no longer systems!). Reformat. Reinstall home windows and all systems. This takes five to sixteen hours, relying on what number of certain settings you've got. It fees round three hundred greenbacks to have performed on web site. Less within the keep, possibly part that. Word files typically stash macros in them. The macros may also be viruses! Don't run any macros that existed earlier than. I propose changing the historical tough disk with a brand new one. Then, purchase a kind of "outside tough disk instances" (usb) and plug your historical tough force into it, however do not plug it into your pc. Install your procedure with a blank reproduction of home windows. Perform all of the updates. PURCHASE a license for a pandemic/spyware and adware (Norton, and so forth) blocker. Then, plug your historical tough disk in, with its USB connection, and you'll entry your records most effective while obviously vital. And do not run ANY of your historical systems. The smoke is on the whole out of your vigour deliver. They burn out at all times, and sound like a shotgun once they arc. Open the case, do away with the vigour deliver and purchase a brand new one. Power provides fee 25 to 50 greenbacks. From my revel in, such a lot vigour provides generally tend to final round two years, much less in soiled areas. Also, if a pc will get soiled, the enthusiasts "gum" up. Take every fan and spin it through hand. If it may not spin conveniently (very conveniently!) change the fan, or peel off the sticky label and upload a drop of mineral oil. Put on yet another sticky label and spin it lightly till it loosens up. I've visible most of these disorders. Even at the identical computer systems. The "shotgun" sound is regularly a kick within the pants!

if windows is that far gone and wont load chances are your screwed.

but! you can download windows7 iso burn it to disk and use it till 2010 march i think... you will need power iso to burn the image.

and if you have files on your system you need, just have 7 create and install a partition thats not being used so you can back up your stuff.

you can do the same with linux...i prefer mint7

or the other way to go unplug from the internet go to start, run, type in msconfig, and click OK. When the System Configuration Utility window comes up, click the BOOT.INI tab, select SAFEBOOT, and then OK. You will get asked to reboot and when you do, it will come up in Safe Mode hopefully.

you can also turn off a bunch of services that dont need to be running and turn on explorer. then run malwarebytes

good luck
