how can i delete a face book time machine icon on my desktop?

I use an IBOOK G4 and for some reason a 'face book' time machine has appeared on my desktop and I cant delete it, an ideas? I haven't added it myself it just appeared and whenever I drag it to my trash it just 'ejects' and reappears the next time I restart.
