perhaps go to a gay porn site and see if he asks anything about it...sounds like a good plan?

I'm a Dad.

I will tell u that if the PC and the house was purchased by him u must do as he wishes until u move out and pay your own way.

Till then he is just doing the same thing I did to my daughter. Protecting u from the Internet and all the bad crap and people that is out there.

He won't tell u anything because he's not stupid, he knows that u will try to find a way around things that u know about.

What he has done as far as ur PC goes it could be simple software that he installed to monitor ur activities, or like me/I did, he could have placed a worm virus on your PC that logs every keystroke and web-page u go to.

Either way if u find out what he did and stop it, he will know.... until you move out...

It's ur choice.

Good luck

There are software programs that you can not find that will secretly send all your information to a website so he can track what your doing. The software hides so you can't find it. There isn't much you can do about it.

that is with my friends computer, his computer can record EVERYTHING that you do, write on a search engine "Hi dad, I know you can see this" or something and then see what he does.
YA ..
2009-06-18 19:11:06 UTC
Yeah there are keystroke loggers and internet history, etc. that he can track. The best way to avoid it is turn 18, then buy your own pc and internet connection.

Well. Isn't a computer a bit like a Diary? Put a lock on it.

You can delete your history. - Go to 'Tools' and click 'Clear Private Data.

then he prolly saw you type this
2009-06-18 19:10:05 UTC
Definitely! He knows!!!

I'm sort of kidding

but it's actually quite easy to do that

so I'd watch what I did if I was you

ya there's a way. on your msn there's history you should first unmark that or delete it (I'm not sure how)

for your internet just go to tools, internet options, and delete your history if its a mac reset safari. umm i don't know what else he can possibly check?

Your dad has every right to do something like that.

Maybe, do something like order a bday gift off that CPU and if he isn't surprised when you give it to him....

Well if he had physical access to your computer, and he's computer savvy like you said he is, I doubt you will know.

You could check to see what programs and processes are being used in your Windows Task Manager (press CTRL + ALT + DEL keys together).

And if you click on the "Processes" tab, anything that looks strange, do a search on that program to see if anything comes up and what others are saying about those programs.

Since your dad had physical access to your computer, it's very easy to install a spyware program and have whatever security programs that prevent spyware from running, to be circumvented.

I'm sure your dad is looking out for your best interest. If you were a father, would you not want the same and look over your own children?

You can always sit down and ask your dad openly and see what he says. Perhaps he just sits down to use your computer and sees whatever you got laying around in your computer.

Good luck!

My dad used to do the same thing when I was younger. One day when I was 14, he checked the history on the computer (back then I wasn't aware that you could delete your history). So found out that I had gone to a girly website (Kotex.com)..lol. He got mad at me for that....pretty strange right?? I didn't think that it was inappropriate to go to that site..lol. Anyway, he later stopped checking the history because I guess he learnt that he should be able to trust. Lucky for me, now I have a laptop, which I personally have to log into in order to use. NOBODY KNOWS MY PASSWORD. I would suggest that you get a laptop (if possible) and put a password on it. But for now, stay away from websites which your father may find inappropriate and as for your msn conversations...keep them clean for now. No dirty talks. Good luck!

Does he have physical access to your computer? Is it a shared computer?

I think the best solution to this is less technical and more social. Create false clues via MSN or emails, then see if he "knows" them or not. That would be conclusive.

You could also hit ctrl+shift+escape and take a look at your processes, googling any suspicious ones to see if they have anything to do with spying. A more technical answer would be to install a protocol analyzer like wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org/), and see if packets are being sent anywhere. Also run a virus scan with admin rights if you can, and see if there are any "keyloggers", or similar infections detected.

He may have put a key recorder or whatever they're called, which will save everything typed into the computer, whether it's on MSN or not. If not that, then if you have saved your instant messaging conversations, then he probably just gets on and reads them.

If he's just reading your MSN conversations from the logs, then go into your preferences and set it not to save the conversations. If he's got a key recorder, you'll have to remove it (I'm pretty sure it's hardware, not software, so it's probably attached to a USB port or something on the back of your computer).

just checking .. did you look in control panel etc for anything out the ordinary also in device manager

your dad will only be able to see what you are doin if you computer is hooked up to the internet

im sure he is likely reading this given he's a top secret spy or something so you could always set-up a ssh tunnel to your mates computer and use the internet that way, he wouldnt be able to see what you do cause all the requests would come from your mates computer

lastly, i rekon you should play him at his game .. get a copy of radmin remote viewing software and install it on his computer ... that will sure get you a laugh :P :P enjoy

He'll probably see this answer but if MSN convos are the main problem, then go into the Messenger options and where it says Message Logging, or something like that. Uncheck it if it's checked.....or he's better than what I thought. He'll be using programs and stuff to watch and record what your screen shows (H)

There is software that can monitor computer use. Heck, work places do this all the time to avoid employees watching porn at work. My wierd Uncle Elmer got in dutch visiing naughty sites at work.

Buy a disc at best buy or radio shack or somewhere online that scans for spyware. If he is than confront him, or just remove it and than don't say anything. Use it for future scans and keep it somewhere he won't find it.

he probably can control your computer he mostly has some kind of remote desktop installed on your computer so look for any thing that looks or sounds like that and than just uninstall it or block it

Just make sure you sign out of anything you are doing...

Also, you can make a profile on your computer and it password protected.

If he is a big computer person, he might have installed a keylogger on your system, which lets him see everything you type.
