Then it doesn't Chances are it is "scareware advertizing", trying to freak you out to buy a specific antivirus program. It is that antivirus program that is generating the advertizing. Advertizing is not spyware or viruses or malware.

First you can try to download off the net "Malwarebytes" update it and then let it scan your computer.

It is a free program that does a pretty good job at finding crap.

If it does not fix the problem then download off the net Ad -Aware (make sure to include the dash in between "Ad" & "Aware".) This program is free from Lavasoft. Take the free green version....update it and run it to scan your hard drive.

If you still have a problem, I have a few more tools that I can suggest that might work. No need to reformat(I can't afford to lose everything) or reload Windows. And have not needed to for 5 years+

Try to delete it manually:follow the steps below

Manually remove virus

# Create a back-up. Safety comes above all else. Save your files on removable storage or on another partition aside from the Windows drive.

# Run the Windows command prompt. You can run the Windows command prompt by either clicking on the Start Menu\All programs\Accessories\Command Prompt or by pressing Windows + R on the keyboard and typing "CMD.

# Look for the directory or folder where the virus resides. Go to the folder where the virus is hiding. Its usually resides on the Windows temporary folder or on the Windows system folder. Check partitions and drives for viruses, e.g. type "cd e:\virus"

# Show the hidden virus and remove its attributes. It will be easier if you can see the virus. Remove the virus attributes, which are read only, archive, system file, and hidden file. e.g. type "attrib -r -a -s -h virus.vbs"

# Delete the virus. Say goodbye to the virus by deleting it, e.g. type "del virus.vbs"

then you next best option is to reformat, that will get rid of it 100%, but you will loose all your personal data along the way.

Just out of curiosity were you running freebie programs as protection?? you can try a repair on your OS first so you don't loose your personal data. But Backup is the word to remember. I got burnt the same way with a 250 GB harddrive crash, now I backup twice a week.

trojanspm/lx is a variant of MyWebSearch. Try this. Download malware bytes if it will let you. If it won't then you can try downloading it in safe mode. Update it in safe mode. Run a quick scan. If you have my web search on your machine you will have a problem getting malware bytes to download in regular mode. But if not it may be scare ware or a faults positive.

it'd quarantine them. Open up your Avast administration panel and verify to work out what that's got here upon and what that's accomplished. it'd locate viruses and on the least quarantine them, if no longer delete them. It relies upon on how in many instances you replace this equipment (I do mine each and every few hours) and in case you have configured the applying to quarantine, remedy, or delete the viruses.
