I got a random malware alert on my Android phone. Is this legit?

I went to sleep, woke up, and found a malware alert on my phone. I was not on any web browser, the alert simply appeared at the top of my screen.

I clicked on it (immediately noted that the alert was not from CM Security). It said that my Android has malware, and it suggested that I erase ALL of my phone's data and information right then and there.

I was suspicious, so I installed Malwarebytes anti-malware, scanned my phone, and it found no malware of any kind.

Was this likely a fake attack, or should I take more drastic measures?

It's likely that one of the apps that you recently installed has that inside it. If you stream videos (not netflix or legal streams) in the background they can download apps. Have a look through your apps and see if there is anything you don't recognise. I know of one secret folder app that does this. Good luck :)

Never click on those fake alerts, if you didnt install the anti malware how can it scan your phone and warn you?

Sounds like it is fake. Might of come from a recently installed app or recent visit of a webpage. You're probably fine if Malwarebytes didnt find anything
