I have AVG...And superantispyware, but im starting to dislike AVG...Out of OVER 48 trojans, it only detected 10, and could not remove them...thanks superantispyware...

I am wondering, is avast as good as people say?

AND, will these work together?

AVAST-Free Edition

Commodo Firewall ONLY-Free

Spy-bot search and destroy

Superantispyware

______________

will those work together?...I know comodo firewall is good, the antivirus still had some bugs in it.....

OR- Will this conflict with each other? AND, should i just keep avg, and super anti and im good to go?---OH,k don't forget spy-blaster...:D

MY OTHER QUESTIONS:

I used to have that NASTY Reults5 google virus...kept redirecting me, maylbytes...got it, though random pop ups happen at web-sites that should not happen at, and they come up anyway...and sometimes i randomly re-direct...Any way i can fix this that the scanners don't pick up on? AVG, or superanti...Or malwarebytes at the time...

----------------

AND, my system: Winxp, sp3..gig and half of ram, over a gig free...fast processor...

______________

I am also curious, ARE...there any programs out there like system restore, just more...reliable and will still work if my computer can only boot into safe mode?...sorry, my system restore, volume was infected massively...so many trojans.......I need another, backup...For some reason, all my previous restore points and auto saves, were corrupted....hm, i wonder who did that?

______________________________--

superantispyware picked up A falcomp trojan, what is that? and what is a vaveer? I may of misspelled its name...AND, what is a maleware-link?...

__________________________

I have been having 100% svchost cpu now and then...How do i fix this? It is killing me as bad as the trojans...

Let's get you sorted out with one thing at a time.

AVG Free does not contain Anti-Rootkit protection so rootkits may be hidden in your system.

redirect viruses are usually the effects of a rootkit.

you say you are still getting randomly redirected so follow this.

First

click on Start > Run. Type in the following into the open box.

devmgmt.msc

then Click on OK. This will run Device Manager. In Device Manager,

click on View > Show Hidden Devices.

expand all the devices by clicking on the "Plus" sign. Now try to find

TDSSserv.sys or clbdriver.sys or oUltraf or seneka.sys,

right click on whatever one you found and select Disable.

Please make sure that you do not select the Un-Install option

otherwise infection will be back once you reboot your computer.

if none of them are there do not worry,

it could be something simpler but follow what comes next.

you will have to enable view hidden folders in folder options > view.

Delete everything in the windows temp folder,

C > Windows > Temp

Delete all cookies,

Delete all temporary internet files(not to be confused with windows temp files)

these are best deleted via your internet browsers.

it will save you messing about in the the hidden system files

reset internet explorer,

tools > internet options > Advanced tab > reset .

Delete everything in the prefetch folder.

C > Windows > Prefetch

Delete the hosts file,

C > Windows > System32 > drivers > etc > HOSTS

A clean hosts file will be written by windows when you reboot later.

Note: if you were using a custom Hosts file

you will need to replace any of those entries yourself.

Delete the flash cookies found in the macromedia, #Shared Objects folder.

c > users > "your name" > App Data > Roaming > macromedia > Flash player > #Shared Objects

delete everything you find in the #Shared Objects folder

Run a full scan with this

Sophos Anti-Rootkit : http://www.sophos.com/products/free-tools/sophos-anti-rootkit.html

and remove anything suspicious it finds.

Sophos Anti-Rootkit DOWNLOAD : https://secure.sophos.com/support/cleaners/sar_15_sfx.exe

Then run a full scan with this and remove what it finds.

Super anti spyware Pro : http://www.superantispyware.com/

Super anti spyware Pro DOWNLOAD : http://downloads.superantispyware.com/downloads/SUPERAntiSpywarePro.exe

this has a tool built in that can reset the URL prefix's

USE IT.

reset your router to default.

your redirect virus should now be completely gone.

To double check,

Download tdss killer : http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.exe

then run it.

Hi Folks, I feel like a computer savvy person, or people say so. When I got my first computer I told myself that it is only a toy. The reason for saying this is I had a computer genius friend that came to my home for five days, twelve hours a day. I took it all in because it was very interesting. So, here I am going to Register Editor, and other areas. When I uninstalled a program--I wasn't satisfied with just that, I would go to Run>regedit>and delete all remnants of the software. I made some mistakes back then but, as I said my first was a toy. I experienced crashes and having to go thru a lot of bs getting it back going again; however, I never put anything, or download anything that was important. Anyway, computers have changed a lot in the past couple decades.

The reason I am here now is to tell you what security software I have used that I consider great. MalwareBytes Pro is well worth buying. CCleaner, man as far as I'm concerned it is the greatest; and although the free CCleaner is very good I would consider buying it too. SpyBot Search and Destroy is good; however, if you use Malwarebytes then there is no point in downloading SpyBot; both are good but I prefer Malwarebytes. Windows Microsoft Firewall is good enough for me. When it comes to an Anti-Virus I use Norton Antivirus; however, didn't use it for years because they just kept adding so much junk with their Internet Security, and it was losing it's customers in droves when 2000 got here--and I'm still living! Anyway, Norton Antivirus has a vault for passwords safe surfing which I like about it. You can open it up and click on the 'eye' thing to show passwords and print it out so you'll have a hardcopy. One last thing, I downloaded McAFee Secure Search as I KNow it is better than Norton. So, that's it folks. Have a Great Day! :)

For the "Results5.Google.com" virus, you should look to use a program called "ComboFix" to remove it. This is often referred to as the Google Redirect virus, and is very difficult to remove unless you're able to reliably fix all the infected elements it has.

Some people report that MalwareBytes works initially to remove this infection, but over time, they find it keeps coming back to haunt them. In order to get rid of it, you should look at this tutorial, which works for most people:
