Mangafox.com and Viruses?!?

Question

So today, I was happily reading a manga on mangafox.com and all of a sudden my antivirus detected so many viruses, suspicious behavior, and infected files. Is all this really caused by mangafox.com? If so, are there any other manga websites that are safe and WON'T give me any viruses. Please and Thank You :]

Also, I want to know if Sophos Anti-Virus is a reliable product?

I checked the site out and according to my site Advisor it's safe. But someone could easily put a Trojan or some malicious script on the site.

Mangafox.com has some reports of viruses, trojans and browser hijacks on McAfee.Use McAfee Site Advisor website to check if there are any problems such as malware. However, you never know if its a scam site until you read other user comments. Do a search for the site. Here is a good website that gives user reviews:

I actually got that same problem too. Seems a trojan is hidden on one of the ads on mangafox. It was causing a fake antivirus screen come up on my mine. Mangafox is a good site, but it seems one of it sponsors are not.



The trojan infected my Linux computer, although since it was not windows there was no damage. I just disabled the ads with adblocker and cleared the cache. The virus was gone by then.
