Question:
Is there any way someone can access my TrueCrypt files?

So basically, I have some files (I am a 17 year old male so you can guess what files) that I have stored on my PC and put in a truecrypt volume, I have the .tc volume file stored in a random folder, I used the default settings with truecrypt, and set a password. The only reason I did this is because I have had occasions where a parent or sibling has been browsing my laptop, and gone dangerously close to where the files where.

My question is, can people who browse my PC discover these files without the password?

Kevy obviously doesn't know how truecrypt works.

That being said, without the password, all they will see is the name of your truecrypt file. Nothing else is visible

EDIT: @Kevy, Truecrypt essentially makes an encrypted folder that contains files/folders that can not be seen in any way/shape/form without the password. You can also encrypt entire drives with it if you so choose.

There is absolutely NO way anyone can access the files without the password. Of course a hacker could use software to crack the password. So if your password was weak, then yes. Truecrypt will tell you when creating your volume if the password is too weak. Also you can create a keyfile , this will then be needed as well as the password, This is not necessary unless you are storing extremly secretive information

Most important, always UNMOUNT your volume when you are finished looking at it

Yes... depending on how you encrypted the files they can probably see them but not open them.

Best way is to Encrypt the whole drive/volume then they wont even see it, as would need passcode to access drive.

But if you only encrypted files / folders... you can read the file name but not open the file with out passcode.
