Can someone please help with removing it. Every time I start up Windows all the Icons and toolbar disappear however I can still get on the internet and still access some programs but it has to be through My Computer. I have Spy sweeper and Trend Micro both which have worked fine before but it's not removing it this time. Also, I can't seem restore windows back to before this happen.

I know other people have had problems removing it but can some please help. I am pretty good with computers and I'm sure I'll eventual fix it, but any help well be appreciated.

Try using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It has done the job for me on many occasions while fixing other people's computers.

Hello Beare, 'Virtumonde" is trojan horse virus and you can get rid of it by using this and another spyware program, I always highly recommend this spyware program because of the good job it does getting rid of and keep protecting the computer from (spyware, malware, adware, trojan horses, and some computer worms) So give it a try ok, here is the link to click on to get started and it is Free. (http://www.superantispyware.com) No matter what you try doing unless you get rid of that trojan horse nothing will work right ok. Now Get Started Right Away. Good Luck

Microsoft's MSRT- Malicious Software Removal Tool

For the current list of malware from Microsoft that the most recent MSRT can detect & cure go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/families.mspx

If you have downloaded the most recent MSRT from Microsoft (from the monthly 'Cycle Update'):

Right click the desktop > New> Shortcut; then type in " MSRT " (sans quote), a shortcut will be made directly to run the tool.

This will identify known malware, and corrective action taken.

Has full UI; quick scan takes 5 minutes; full scan is much longer.

Gives results of scans, checks e-mail, etc.

Very handy set-up.

For download of the MSRT, go here:

http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=40587

On line scan also available.

Please download and install Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, update it and run a full scan. Remove everything it finds.

After disinfection, download and install Avira AntiVir if you do not have an anti-virus installed.

If you are still having problems with your computer, I recommend that you go to bleepingcomputer.com in order to remove all traces of malware in your computer.
