If that scares you it should there is no protection of Censership on the internet. If your not in a Network make sure all file sharing on your PC is switched off .

It's a con. I had a similar phone call with a guy telling me he got a report my pc was under attack by a virus and he would guide me to get rid of it.

If there's an error or a problem with your computer, it will be your network provider calling you if anything. Don't trust anyone else.

Scam Phone calls

Here is some info about scam calls

If you receive a phone call claiming to be from 'Microsoft' or someone claiming to work on their behalf, telling you that you have a virus on your computer or some errors which they will help you to fix via Ammyy Admin, it is definitely a scam.

We can assure you Ammyy Inc. doesn't make these kinds of calls and never asks to download and launch Ammyy Admin.

In case you received such type of phone call - hang up, do not let them have remote control access to your computer and never provide any of your credit card requisites.

Its a well known con do not do it, they are after remote access and theft of your pc, they ask for a credit card to "fix" a problem that doesnt exist, best thing to do tell them you run linux and hang up.
