Yes, you have to be carefull. Some hackers have special softwares that can configure and break any passwords instantly. The best thing to do is have a lot of e-mail ID's of your own. This way you can divide them into sections, for example, use one ID for your office work, you can use other ID's for your personal use or whatever.

it probably depends on how good he is with a pc..but at least he was dumb enough to warn you. get a new email address, maybe even a new provider, and change your password frequently...don't use things he would know like the kid's birthdays, etcetra...and you can set the pc so that you log on to your stuff with a password, and other people log on to theirs with their password. if you are using internet explorer as your browser, click on tools, then internet options, then delete files, then check the little box that says 'delete all offline content' and click ok. when it gets done, then clear your history, which you can set to clear itself as often as you like....but be smarter than him...don't tell him you got a new email address and password, just let the people who email you know the new address. maybe keep the old one active in case he emails you.

Yes it is very possible depending on his hacking skills. Essentially, I could talk to you a couple times in a chat room and be able to get your credit card numbers and everything. If he's good, he could do that. If he sucks with computers, then don't worry. To be safe, don't open any emails he sends or chat with him online. There are places out there that will hack into an account for a fee... Change passwords often. Once per month. Want to test him? Mention "2600" and see what he says. Say you are going to join it. Good luck. Just ask me if you want mo' info.

The level of security for your password is up to you. If he says he is breaking in is there any proof? Any tampering that you can tell? One of the times you see him say "if you know my password tell it to me."
Now for the security: Change your password often! Monthly. Don't use things like childrens names, too obvious to him. Use keyboard sequences that are easy to remember, and never write them down. Finally use UPPER CASE, lower case and numbers, 28403, all in the same password. Ten characters should do. (it would take the worlds fastest computer over 100 years to figure out one of these passwords)
GOOD LUCK

Use a strong password ( mix of upper case, lower case and numeric characters), and change your password often.
Also, create an account he wouldn't know about, perhaps yahoo mail, forward e-mail you want to keep to it, and then delete it from your original account.
Finally, you can make your e-mail unreadable to anyone other than the intended receipiant by using an encryption utility such as GNU Privacy Guard.
