Having problems with updating AVG.
When trying to update, a message comes up saying Invalid Update Control CTF file.
Checked the AVG website which has a section on fixing this problem, where it says go into Tools - Advanced settings. From there it says go into the 'Management' section under the 'Update' branch, where you can delete the temporary update files. However, when I go into this, there is no 'Management' section under Update.
Another similar question on Yahoo Answers had an answer saying do a Windows search for .ctf files and delete them. I have searched but cannot find any.

Thank you for your help!

I am assuming that you have the FREE version with Vista???

If that is the case - unistall AVG and look up AVAST anti virus FREE.

Install that instead - it's much better than AVG.

The issue with AVG has been affecting users with Vista for a long time now and has not been corrected - the funny thing is, it is only happening on a few Vista computers - not all of them - which is why AVG (Grisoft) will not bother doing anything.
