I scanned my computer with Kaspersky Internet Security v8 2009. Scan report says that a very dangerous virus called mso.dll is on my computer. I found from net surfing that mso.dll is a microsoft Office 2003 file. Why is Kaspersky calling it a virus?

Hi

It could be a false positive or maybe it's not the same file.

I suggest you upload the file to VirusTotal to scan it. VirusTotal is a free service which scans files under 10MB with around 36 different antivirus and antimalware engines.

You should use your Kaspersky forum for these questions they can help you

more then Answers can. To get to Kaspersky forum on your KIS, >left click on KIS icon go to> support on the bottom then go to>users forum. You will have to create a free account and they are going to want a GSI report so they can see what's going on. They are also going to tell you to send the file to newvirus@kaspersky.com Just go to the forum .
