Today I ran Norton Security Scan and it informed me that I have 2 viruses on my computer. Norton's website said that they were trojan horses. The threat name is "Infostealer.Daonol" and the target name is c:\windows\nlb.jqv . If I type the c:\windows\nlb.jqv into Command Prompt, it says that access is denied. Can anyone help me remove this from my computer.

P.S. I have Windows XP Home Edition and my computer is a Compaq Presario V2000

Did you just run a scan without having a 'Virus' remover?

If that's the case, download a few from CNET.com (FREE), run 'em, but only one at a time to avoid conflicts. Stick with the one you trust, plus get 'Ad-Aware' to get rid of malware.

Play around with 'em, every 'Bug' remover program does not always get 'em all.

CNET has some (packages) suites available that do more than one thing, TEST 'EM.

I have 3 Anti-Virus programs, I run one at a time, and leave the most comprehensive one active when not scanning.

It is good you already found the virus. Now you need to boot your computer to SAFE MODE. Then run the scan again. you will be able to delete the virus. If you don't know how to boot to SAFE mode, restart your computer then press F8, you will see a boot list. Then choose safe mode. Good luck!

Malwarebytes will delete nearly anything but yeah try booting into safe mode first

If you brought norton security they would've dealt with the problem instead of you dealing with it yourself but what you should do is just go to download.cnet.com and download a anti virus software for free.
